Shane's experience
Shane earned his Masters in Family and Couples Therapy at Regis University in Denver. His experience with individuals has always been woven into his work with couples and family systems. He trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy which lends a powerful lens to individual therapy as well. Shane found out quickly that he was skilled at working with not only individuals but also both couples and family systems, which is not something all therapists can do. Shane is also trained in EMDR which is powerful intervention for trauma treatment.
When Shane works with couples and families, he concentrates on creating successful connections. This helps them identify their desires and develop the skills necessary for lasting and healthy relationships. This results in individuals feeling loved, connected, and experiencing less anxiety and disappointment in their relationships.
Shane Wachlin's style
Shane is first and foremost easy to talk to. He is a guy you could run into and chat with on the street. This makes his solid educational background and therapeutic skills all the more valuable. Shane is uniquely effective at keeping up with everyone in the room and he makes his deep listening feel easy for him and his client/s.
Shane’s therapeutic style is humanistic, he believes in the innate drive and ability of humans to be well and pursue meaning and connection. His style is also informed by his background in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). EFT is an evidenced based, trauma informed therapy that is especially good at helping individuals and couples access and effectively share their emotions and needs, forming secure, healthy relationships.
Shane Wachlin is very good at assisting individuals in gaining a clear understanding of their goals and guiding them on the path to achieving them.
